FILLING A ROOM WITH THE SWEETEST AND MOST ATTENTIVE ENERGY - Puma Blue created an atmosphere like no other at The El Rey Theater. The singer-songwriter, known simply as Jacob Allen to friends, remained at the spotlight throughout the whole evening thanks to his endearing, heartfelt vocals. Accompanied with a full band, the show would shift from complex, layers of sound complete with a live saxophone, to a more minimalist, thoughtful production tone.

Tracks like “Velvet Leaves” highlighted the Jazz undertones of his music, leaving listeners hooked onto every last note. Though soft and sweet, the nature of Puma Blue’s music demanded the attention of the crowd, all of whom were transported to another dimension for the evening. All it took was the one note of the next track to trigger the room into excitement, eager to hear the next song.

Weaving through tracks of his whole discography from “Soft Porn” to "Oil Slick”, there was an overwhelming feeling of appreciation and respect for Puma Blue throughout the entire evening. Fans were so attentive that you probably could have heard a pin drop, and their eyes were glued to that stage in awe the whole evening. The elements of lo-fi, R&B and indie allow for a diverse fan base, as Puma Blue’s music seems to have something for all music lovers.

Fresh off the release of the B-sides and live version of In Praise of Shadows, Puma Blue continues through their US tour throughout the rest of November before kicking off a European tour next winter. Catch Puma Blue on tour to experience the magic of his music yourself.
