June6xteen is making waves in the music industry with her latest single "Me Myself & I," a high-energy anthem that solidifies her evolution as an artist. Blending liquid drum & bass with lush synth textures, the track is more than just a song—it’s a statement. As she gears up for the release of her sophomore album, June6xteen is stepping into a bold new era, one that embraces independence, resilience, and a fearless approach to self-expression.

The France-born, Montreal-raised singer-songwriter has been on an upward trajectory since her early days on The Voice Kids at just ten years old. Since then, she has amassed over 13 million views on TikTok and achieved nine Top 40 hits, proving that her talent and dedication are forces to be reckoned with. With two EPs under her belt, her next full-length project promises an even deeper dive into themes of love, loss, and personal growth, all wrapped in a sound that fuses alternative pop with electronic influences.

"Me Myself & I" is a defining moment in June6xteen’s artistic journey, embodying the essence of self-reliance and empowerment. The song’s pulsating beats and soaring melodies mirror the emotional highs and lows of choosing oneself, making it an anthem for anyone forging their own path.

As she continues to shape her unique sound, June6xteen remains committed to authenticity. Her influences range from powerhouse vocalists like Christina Aguilera to modern trailblazers like Billie Eilish and Tate McRae. She also finds inspiration beyond music, drawing from fashion, film, and personal experiences to craft a multidimensional artistic identity.

In this exclusive interview with The Luna Collective, June6xteen opens up about her journey from child performer to chart-topping artist, the creative process behind her latest single, and what fans can expect from her upcoming album. With a fearless attitude and a clear vision for the future, June6xteen is proving that she’s not just an artist to watch—she’s an artist who’s here to stay.

LUNA: You’ve been a major force in the music scene from a young age. Can you tell us what it was like transitioning from The Voice Kids to the artist you are today?

JUNE6XTEEN: That transition was definitely a journey. The Voice Kids was my first real taste of the industry—I was young, passionate, and just excited to be on a stage. Touring with the show taught me a lot about performance and working under pressure, but I was still figuring out who I was as an artist, because I was only nine. After that, I joined Cool Kids, which was another big learning experience. We got to open for Marc Dupré and even contributed to the La Guerre des Tuques soundtrack, which was surreal. But being in a group is different from being a solo artist, and I knew I had more to say on my own. Then I took a bit of a detour into blues for two years, which gave me a deeper understanding of musicality and stage presence. But pop was always where my heart was. At 16, I finally started my solo career, and that’s when everything clicked. My first single, “Ruined My Life,” set the tone for what I wanted to create—raw emotions, strong melodies, and music that connects with people. Over the years, I’ve grown a lot—not just as a singer, but as a songwriter and performer. I’ve worked with incredible producers, gone viral on TikTok, played major stages, and really honed my sound. Looking back, every step—from The Voice Kids to now—was necessary. I wouldn’t change a thing because it all shaped me into the artist I am today.

LUNA: Congratulations on your new single “Me Myself & I.” You've evolved into a powerful alternative pop artist. How did this song come to fruition?

JUNE6XTEEN: Thank you! “Me Myself & I” is really special to me because it represents a shift in both my sound and my mindset. I wrote it during a period of deep reflection—after spending a year focusing on myself, healing from past relationships, and reclaiming my sense of self-esteem. The song actually started with a simple idea: what if I wrote an anthem about self-empowerment, but in a way that still felt raw and vulnerable? I didn’t want it to be just another “I’m better off alone” track—I wanted to capture the real ups and downs of choosing yourself. In the studio, we experimented with alternative pop sounds and subtle liquid D&B elements to give it a dynamic, almost cinematic feel. The production mirrors the emotional push and pull of the lyrics—moments of softness mixed with intensity, just like the process of self-growth. At its core, “Me Myself & I” is about realizing that you are enough. It’s a reminder that we all have the power to build our future if we believe in ourselves and put in the work. Seeing it resonate with people, especially as it's getting radio traction in both Canada and the UK, is surreal. I’m so grateful for how it’s been received so far!

LUNA: How has your musical journey influenced the direction of your upcoming sophomore album?

JUNE6XTEEN: My journey has shaped this album in every way. I’m blending alternative pop with liquid D&B elements, exploring themes of self-esteem, reminiscence, and love from a deeper, more introspective place. After years of growth—both personally and artistically—this album reflects my highs, lows, and everything in between. It’s my most authentic and ambitious project yet, designed to hit hard both emotionally and in live performances. I can’t wait to share it.

LUNA: You’ve mentioned that your new music is about embracing who you truly are. Can you elaborate on how your personal growth plays into this?

JUNE6XTEEN: Absolutely. Over the past year, I’ve done a lot of self-reflection—taking time to heal, understand myself better, and rebuild my self-esteem. That growth naturally poured into my music. This album captures the journey of questioning everything, finding clarity, and embracing change. It’s about letting go of doubt, owning who I am, and stepping into my power without fear. Every song reflects a different piece of that evolution, both emotionally and sonically. At its core, this project is the most real and unfiltered I’ve ever been. It’s me, fully embracing myself—no compromises.

LUNA: Can you talk about how the message of empowerment in your music connects with your fans?

JUNE6XTEEN: My music is about connection—making people feel seen and understood. Fans have shared how my songs helped them through breakups, tough moments, or rediscovering their self-worth and that’s the most rewarding part—knowing my music can be a source of strength for someone else. True empowerment is about growth, self-acceptance, and believing in yourself. If my music can inspire that, then I’m happy.

LUNA: You’ve built an impressive presence on TikTok with over 13 million views. How has social media influenced your music and your relationship with fans?

JUNE6XTEEN: Social media, especially TikTok, has helped me reach more people and connect with fans in a way that wasn’t possible before. It’s amazing to see a song go viral and resonate with millions, but converting likes and views into streams can still be a challenge. That’s why live performances are so important to me—nothing replaces that real connection. Social media is a great tool, but at the end of the day, it’s about making music that truly sticks with people.

LUNA: You’ve already seen success with nine Top 40 hits. What does it feel like knowing your music resonates with so many people?

JUNE6XTEEN: It’s honestly surreal and feels like a privilege. Knowing my music connects with so many people is the most rewarding part of what I do. Every song comes from a real place, so seeing it resonate—whether it’s on the charts or in someone’s personal story—reminds me why I do this. It’s a feeling I’ll never take for granted.

LUNA: "Me Myself & I" is a bold declaration of artistic independence. What’s it like stepping into this new phase of your career?

JUNE6XTEEN: Stepping into this new phase feels exciting and empowering. With "Me Myself & I,” I’m embracing where I am in my career—more confident and focused than ever, and ready to take on new challenges. It’s about pushing myself forward, trusting my growth, and sharing this next chapter with my fans. It’s a thrilling time, and I’m so ready for what’s ahead.

LUNA: How do you balance authenticity with the demands of the music industry as you continue to evolve artistically?

JUNE6XTEEN: Balancing authenticity with the demands of the industry can be tricky, but it’s all about staying true to my core values and artistic vision. While there’s always pressure to fit certain molds or trends, I remind myself why I started making music in the first place: to connect with people and stay real. I embrace the evolution of my sound, but I never want to lose sight of who I am. It’s about finding that sweet spot where I can grow as an artist without compromising what makes me authentic.

LUNA: Who are some of your musical influences, and how do they play into your creative process?

JUNE6XTEEN: My musical influences are a mix of powerful voices and innovative sounds. Artists like Christina Aguilera, Billie Eilish, and Tate McRae inspire me with their raw emotion, unique artistry, and ability to push boundaries. I also look to legends like Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston for their vocal mastery and stage presence. These artists influence my creative process by pushing me to take risks, explore different sounds, and always be authentic in my expression. I want to evoke the same kind of connection and emotion that they do through my music.

LUNA: Beyond music, are there any other art forms—film, fashion, or literature—that influence your aesthetic and storytelling?

JUNE6XTEEN: Yes, definitely! Fashion is something I really love and get inspired by. I’m drawn to how it can tell a story and express identity, which aligns with the vibe I want to create in my music. Movies also influence me—especially those with strong visual storytelling and emotion. They help shape how I think about my music videos and live performances, bringing a cinematic feel to my work.

LUNA: You’ve been honing your craft for years now—what has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?

JUNE6XTEEN: The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to myself and trusting my instincts. The industry can be full of pressures, but authenticity has always kept me grounded. Equally important is hard work and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This industry requires a lot of energy, and I’ve learned that staying physically and mentally healthy is key to being able to show up and perform at my best. It’s all about balance.

LUNA: Looking forward, what are you most excited about for 2025?

JUNE6XTEEN: I’m most excited about releasing my sophomore album and sharing the next chapter of my music with the world. I can’t wait to see how the new sound and themes resonate with fans. I’m also really looking forward to performing more live shows, connecting with fans in person, and pushing myself creatively in ways I haven’t before. 2025 feels like a year of growth and new beginnings, and I’m ready for it!
