The ever-growing indie rock band, Wallows, stopped by The Amory in Minneapolis this past week, marking one of nearly forty shows on their Model & More 2025 tour. The tour celebrates the release of Wallows’s third full-length LP, Model, last May. Model is among my favorite releases from the group yet, featuring a perfect combination of their classic indie sound with a new, higher level of production. The twelve-track album is stellar from top to bottom, providing a wide diversity of sound, theme, and tempo. Any listener can find their new favorite song by giving Model a listen. Speaking of favorite songs, the group recently released a new single titled “Your New Favorite Song”. The track will be included on Wallows’s surprise EP, More, which will be released on all streaming platforms on March 28th. Fans can anticipate six more songs alongside “Your New Favorite Song”, and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it.

Since the release of their first single, “Pleaser”, back in 2017, Wallows has accumulated a massive global fanbase. The Minneapolis date put fans’ dedication to the test, however, as hundreds of fans sat outside during a Minnesota snowstorm hoping to make it as close to their favorites as possible. Though I was not among those braving the cold, Wallows put on a show well worth a few semi-frozen toes. The setlist featured the perfect mix of their discography, including everything from their first single from back in 2017 to their most recent aforementioned single which was released just a few weeks ago. No matter how long you’ve been a fan, the setlist had something for you. I was ecstatic to hear some personal favorites like “Uncomfortable”, “1980s Horror Film”, and “Scrawny” had made the cut. Not only was the setlist spectacular, but Wallows definitely knows how to put on a show. From artistic lighting to lively guitar solos to the use of a B-stage, there wasn’t a boring moment during the nearly two-hour-long set. There are still countless (about 35) dates left on the Model & More 2025 tour, so I am almost certain the group will be making a stop in a city near you. You don’t want to miss them.
