Review: Good Morning Delivers a Dreamy Night in Austin
☆ BY Sophie Gragg ☆
AS THE TEMPS FINALLY DIP BELOW 100 IN AUSTIN, music lovers are ready to get back out to shows without breaking a sweak. Beloved venue Mohawk transformed into a dreamscape of indie melodies and ethereal vibes, courtesy of the Australian duo, Good Morning. Playing to an eager crowd, the duo, consisting of Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons, cast a captivating spell with their soothing tunes and laid-back charm.
The atmosphere was electric with anticipation as the band took the stage. Currently on tour with Frankie Cosmos, Good Morning brought their introspective and melodic sound and wasted no time in immersing the audience in their sonic world.
Throughout the evening, Good Morning effortlessly blended tracks from their latest singles “Dog Years” and “Queen of Comedy” as well as 2021’s Barnyard, with beloved classics from their earlier works like "Warned You” and "Don’t Come Home Today”.
In an age of high-energy performances and elaborate stage productions, Good Morning's performance was a refreshing reminder of the power of simplicity. They proved that sometimes, all you need is a guitar, a voice, and an honest song to create magic.
New music is on the way from Good Morning, so stay tuned to see what the duo gets up to this fall.
