Boy Willows - “Fila” Feat. Dylan Minnette
Boy Willows’ new single, “Fila,” is a soft and dreamy alt-pop song that instantly eases you. Landon Fleischman, the moniker behind Boy Willows, is joined by Dylan Minnette from Wallows in a vulnerable look into the discussion of being alone. As Boy Willows embraces the vulnerability and healing of both inside and out, he doesn’t fail to make it more comfortable than serious like in “Fila,” a conversation between two friends about how they cope with being alone in different ways. A therapy session full of soft yet significant notes that fill your heart with warmth and change your atmosphere. In an impossible way, Fleischman transferred what it feels like to feel comfort into the sound of a song. During the production, Fleischman wanted to make the song capture what slow motion feels like, delicate and airy. In the end, he really did do that. “Fila” starts off with “follow me down” and takes you into the dreamy world of Boy Willows and we’re excited to see where else he can take us in his world.
JAWNY - “Super Bad Mantra” (Feat. Christian Blue)
JAWNY shares his new single, “Super Bad Mantra,” and it doesn’t disappoint. LA based artist, JAWNY, produces the most happy feeling upbeat songs, in what seems like hit after hit. Joined by Christian Blue, the two really made this song special with their one liners like, “She gon’ put me in a headlock and I like it.” The groove heavy song is sure to make into your playlists full of songs to dance to. After creating songs that have gone viral on TikTok, JAWNY has made a name for himself and it seems like everyone knows of him and enjoys him. “Super Bad Mantra” just shows that JAWNY’s sound is addictive and perfectly captures how is personality is. Sprinkling his personality in, he says if it fails, “I’m replacing my entire project with 10 tracks of dining room chatter at an Outback Steakhouse”
I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - “Razzmatazz”
Urgent and catchy at the same time, I Don't Know How But They Found Me's “Razzmatazz” is a song to remember. The title track off the band's upcoming debut album, “Razzmatazz” is a hypnotizing blend of an array of instruments — including a thrilling saxophone solo — mixed with dreamy vocals. The song is evidently influenced by the pop culture of the 80s, with lyrics that hold your attention from the very first moment.
The Arctic Monkeys-esque alternative band IDKHOW — with influences ranging from Elvis Costello to David Bowie — has already managed to gain over 1,500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. With their stunning debut record “Razzmatazz” out on October 16th, it is clear that there are brighter things on the horizon.
Moonbeam Machine - “I Can Dig It”
Hazy with an emotive flow, “I Can Dig It” emulates a soft and sweet soundscape for the listener. The first single off of Moonbeam Machine’s upcoming album Lonely Paper Airplane, “I Can Dig It” serves as an introductory track to the dreamy feel of Moonbeam Machine. Honing in a variety of production sounds, the track keeps an engaging pace while sticking to that carefree flow. Moonbeam Machine notes the track is about “Being awake at night and not knowing what to do”.
lavender - “peppermint/home: so long”
Regularly switching from a lazy dreamy sound to a rise in tempo, lavender's debut song “peppermint / home:so long” instantly stands out as distinct and magical. The band states that while there was no specific muse for the song, it sounds like the past year of their lives.
Directed by Tom La Motte, the visuals accompanying “peppermint / home: so long” are enchanting, perfectly matching the vibe of the song. lavender describes their coming together in university as a “lucky accident”, creating music that is a middle ground between the sounds the two members love.
They have been featured in Spotify editorial playlists such as New Music Friday UK and Chill Vibes, and have also made the cover for the Fresh Finds: Indie playlist.
Ivytide - “ouest side”
The newest single from Canada-based Ivytide, “ouest side” is a lofi groove with beautiful lyrics, catchy melodies and soft, dreamy vocals. Effortless and sweet, the song is one that listeners are bound to fall in love with.
The indie-pop track brilliantly captures the feeling of two people growing up and falling in love in the suburbs of a big city. It is an ode to the familiar places and the experiences and memories created there together. Evoking nostalgia with its gentleness, “ouest side” easily becomes a song to remember.
JW Francis - “Good Time”
JW Francis is like a lo-fi bedroom dream pop god. Inspired by elements from Jonathon Richman, The Velvet Underground and New York itself for it’s rise in lo-fi, “Good Time” showcases the wonders of how good JW Francis can make a song. With its infectious guitar lines, lo-fi distant almost fuzzed-out vocals, and unique synth notes, JW Francis will always take you to a dream state. If you’re not listening to him while staring at the ceiling then you’re probably listening to him with friends and making good memories with his songs. His DIY mentality has been hard at work for the past two years earning him to be signed by one of UK’s most respected independent labels and he’s set to release his new album, “We Share a Similar Joy,” out Nov. 6. JW Francis is definitely someone to keep an ear out for. For now, we’ll be playing “Good Time,” on repeat and have a good time.
Howie Davis Jr - “SHE’S MY DADDY”
Howie Davis Jr brings a fun edge and flow with his latest track “SHE’S MY DADDY”. Best described as a “sex positive bedroom pop jingle that explores power dynamics in the modern sexy world”, the track is sure to put a smile on your face. Soft vocals layer effortlessly with smooth instrumentals for a fun and endearing flow. Short and sweet, the track is honest and charming two minutes.
