RICEWINE - β€œDeparture”

RICEWINE hits us with his new single, β€œDeparture,” a smooth and sweet song to complete the end of the summer. With groovy bass notes and unique sonic elements flowing throughout the song, β€œDeparture” will wrap you up and keep you warm. The song overall has a sense of comfort like most of RICEWINE’s music is like. But there is just so much to take in, the sweetness and the thrill. In the middle of the song, there is a small rap-esque verse that catches you off guard at first but completely fits perfectly in the song. There is no hesitation that as you listen to this song, you’ll fall in love with it and get obsessed. It’s just one of those songs you’ll think about all day.

MAY-A - 'β€œCentral Station”

Everyone knows that feeling when you catch a glimpse of a stranger that takes your breath away. MAY-A’s newest right time wrong place track called β€œCentral Station” captures the spark you feel in the moment. Premiering on the night of August 5, the β€œCentral Station”  music video kicked off the release of her debut album Don’t Kiss Ur Friends on August 6. 

The familiar feeling and relatability of the third track on the album complete a well-rounded discography perfect for playlists as summer begins to turn into fall.

Sycco - β€œPast Life”

Brisbane alt pop artist Sycco is rapidly gaining attention for her eccentric sound that feels vibrant and fresh to new listeners. Sycco is actually a pseudonym for 19 year old Sasha McLeod, who is the brains behind this project; from the songwriting to the producing, she does it all. With the release of her EP, Sycco’s First EP, she presents a new track called β€œPast Life”. In this song she demonstrates her shimmery and unconventional production along with her effortlessly clear and lovely vocals that stand out in the track. Sycco isn't shy about being herself and creating music that has a distinct sound to the rest, and β€œPast Life” is proof.

Trousdale - β€œThis Is It”

This raw and relatable song cascades along with harmonizing vocals and embodies a distinct indie-folk sound. The trio Trousdale released the single β€œThis is it” on July 16. Since its premiere, the song has racked up over 99,000 streams on Spotify and over 12,000 views on its accompanying music video available on youtube. 

This track’s ultimately joyful feel spurs on a positive outlook on situations and not take things so personally. β€œThis is it” embodies the trio’s commitment to making quality music that spreads a message of self-love and acceptance that listeners can look forward to in the future.

Mamalarky - β€œMeadow”

Finding that hidden spot along a familiar path is a different kind of excitement. In this new release from Mamalarky, β€œMeadow” was written outside alongside a beautiful river with singing frogs: a path diverged from the usual route taken. 

The first part of a two-song set, β€œMeadow,” is about that feeling of excitement you get with new landscapes and treasures you find. Its accompanying song, β€œMoss,” is about the tranquility of coming to terms with the surrounding landscape. The band’s pair of songs and music videos premiered on August 2 to mark the announcement of the band’s first tour with shows along the east coast.

The Hails - β€œIn The Strangest Way”

Partially distorted vocals connecting soothing stings and mesmerizing synth pull you into the beginning of The Hails newest single, β€œIn the Strangest way.” The 3:29 minute-long release easily blends silky vocals with heavy building drums and entrancing vibrato. The lyrics’ deep yet honest feeling enhances the song’s layers and meaning as they delve into a conversation about the past and current emotions. The last single for their sophomore EP, fans of the music can sing their hearts out to β€œIn the Strangest Way” and excitedly look forward to the group’s next release.
