Everyone knows that feeling when you catch a glimpse of a stranger that takes your breath away. MAY-Aβs newest right time wrong place track called βCentral Stationβ captures the spark you feel in the moment. Premiering on the night of August 5, the βCentral Stationβ music video kicked off the release of her debut album Donβt Kiss Ur Friends on August 6.
The familiar feeling and relatability of the third track on the album complete a well-rounded discography perfect for playlists as summer begins to turn into fall.
Sycco - βPast Lifeβ
Brisbane alt pop artist Sycco is rapidly gaining attention for her eccentric sound that feels vibrant and fresh to new listeners. Sycco is actually a pseudonym for 19 year old Sasha McLeod, who is the brains behind this project; from the songwriting to the producing, she does it all. With the release of her EP, Syccoβs First EP, she presents a new track called βPast Lifeβ. In this song she demonstrates her shimmery and unconventional production along with her effortlessly clear and lovely vocals that stand out in the track. Sycco isn't shy about being herself and creating music that has a distinct sound to the rest, and βPast Lifeβ is proof.
Trousdale - βThis Is Itβ
This raw and relatable song cascades along with harmonizing vocals and embodies a distinct indie-folk sound. The trio Trousdale released the single βThis is itβ on July 16. Since its premiere, the song has racked up over 99,000 streams on Spotify and over 12,000 views on its accompanying music video available on youtube.
This trackβs ultimately joyful feel spurs on a positive outlook on situations and not take things so personally. βThis is itβ embodies the trioβs commitment to making quality music that spreads a message of self-love and acceptance that listeners can look forward to in the future.
Mamalarky - βMeadowβ
Finding that hidden spot along a familiar path is a different kind of excitement. In this new release from Mamalarky, βMeadowβ was written outside alongside a beautiful river with singing frogs: a path diverged from the usual route taken.
The first part of a two-song set, βMeadow,β is about that feeling of excitement you get with new landscapes and treasures you find. Its accompanying song, βMoss,β is about the tranquility of coming to terms with the surrounding landscape. The bandβs pair of songs and music videos premiered on August 2 to mark the announcement of the bandβs first tour with shows along the east coast.
