Being well known for his soothing, powerful voice, masterful production skills, and his reflective songwriting. That being said, it comes as no surprise that “Life Is Not The Same” is a tender and heartfelt track with R&B influences sprinkled upon the track—It's sure to tug at your heartstrings. Steve Bamidele - “You Where Wrong”
Steve Bamidele releases “You Were Wrong,” a track oozing with soothing vitality but intense emotions. “You Were Wrong” is the first single released off Bamidele’s upcoming EP Uncrowded.
The Nigerian-British artist crafted his sound from inspirations like his mother’s church music and other influences such as Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, and Marvin Gaye. After his father’s death in 2019 and the raging pandemic nowhere near the end, Bamidele nearly quit music. However, after taking a step back, he began producing music again to take pressure off the constant self-examination of being a solo songwriter. As a result, Bamidele’s newest and upcoming releases deal with isolation, loss, and heartbreak.
Honeycraft - “Let You Go”
With her beautiful vocals and a sweet melody, Honeycraft releases her single, “Let You Go,” a song made for a night full of feelings. It’s about accepting, reflecting and doing what is best for you. Along with the meaningful feeling of the song, Honeycraft creates a sense of comfort throughout the song. It’s a big hug of understanding that sometimes we need to hear. With songs like this, ones that touch through lyrics, you’ll fall in love with Honeycraft’s music.
Elephant Castle - “French Food”
As the pandemic ensues life, this new track by Elephant Castle will leave you yearning for the day life can resume as normal. “French Food” has a glimmering retro indie feel that lays out a blueprint of must-do’s once the pandemic ends. “French Food” was released on August 20th and is Elephant Castle’s second single of 2021.
Influenced by listening to 50s and 60s music, Phil Danyew, A.K.A. Elephant Castle, would often steal his father’s tape recorder in his youth to write and record music. As a product of his inspirations, Danyew grew to love vintage synths, layered vocals, and dreamy sounds, all of which effortlessly shine throughout his work.
Idle Dream - “The First Time”
With a sweet feel to it, Idle Dream release their song, “The First Time,” a song about mixed emotions from being in your head while following what you love. In this song, the Dublin duo capture the sweet slow burn of being confused yet reflective. The song feels like a warm sunset with a fresh breeze. A hopeful and upbeat melody with an essence of anxiety in the lyrics. After listening for the first time, you’ll be completely in trance with the warmth of Idle dream.
