Now Listening: This Week's Tracks

Wallows - “At The End Of The Day”

Wallows is gearing up for an exciting 2022 with the release of their latest single “At The End of the Day”. The trio is creating a rich and unique sound leading up to their sophomore album, Tell Me That It’s Over. As a fan of their first album, it’s refreshing to see Wallows continue to create tracks that are evolving with them. “At The End Of The Day” starts out as a light and bouncy electronic track. It’s reminiscent of those classic 80s movies where a couple is driving in a ridiculously large car without a care in the world.

Wallows brings us back to reality as the song opens up to reveal the details of a doomed relationship. The band perfectly balances upbeat, nostalgic electronic beats and loops with an effortlessly light melody throughout the track. It makes for a lovely listen with major earworm potential. The group sticks to their indie roots as an indie group by adding layers of droning guitars and punchy drums. Put it all together and you get an effervescent song that transports you to simpler times. “At The End Of The Day” feels like a natural progression from their debut album and latest EP, allowing Wallows to really explore what sonically makes them stand out.

Be on the lookout for Tell Me That It’s Over set to release on March 25th.

Literally and figuratively, Jeshi’s latest release “3210” sees creativity spilling from the estate in a photo flip-book, zoopraxiscope style. If you want a sweet introduction into Anna’s darker indie style, this is the song to begin with.

roman around shares, “‘DNT’ started as a demo in April of 2021. I was using it as a project to design synth sounds and create random drum loops. It wasn’t intended to go anywhere, but when some friends heard it they became attached to the creation and encouraged me to finish it."

“DNT” serves an incredible addition to the growing artist’s discography while truly showcasing their vulnerability and skills as a song writer. Make sure to keep roman around on your radar and stay tuned for what’s next.

The spirit of Soran’s mum is alive and channeled in his music, as he explains: “It’s ironic, because I’m doing all of the things that she wanted me to do now, but she’s gone. It sounds like me, yet so much of it is my mom. I find a way to celebrate her in every song.”
